Our Vision, Mission, And Work Statement

Our Vision

We envision, African American people and peoples of all races and nationalities in the world living together (Harambe) in love (Agape), prosperity, and peace (Shalom) because they Know, Trust, Love and Serve God who is revealed in the Bible, supremely in Jesus Christ, and who has been and continues, as Holy Spirit, to be active in African American and all of human history and experience.  (Isa.43: 10-21Jn 14)

Our Mission

Our mission is to know, trust, love, and serve God who is revealed in the Bible and supremely in Jesus Christ and who has been and continues, as Holy Spirit, to be active in African American and all of human history and experience and to live together in love, prosperity and peace that God may through us birth, nurture, and grow African American and other peoples who will know, trust, love, and serve God; and live together in love, prosperity and peace.

Our Work

Our work is to:

Know God by studying the Bible, our history, our theological tradition, and other disciplines of knowledge.  (Deut. 4:1-8Psalm 1Matthew 28:19-20Acts 2:41-42)

Trust God by keeping Covenant with God (obeying God’s commandments and ordering our lives in accordance with God’s will).  (Deut. 6:1-1510:12-13John 14)

Love God by regularly worshiping God in private, as families, and as a church family; and generously giving our bodies, mind, gifts and wealth to God.  (Matthew 22:34-40Romans 12:1-2)

Serve as God’s agents to save the lost, reclaim persons who back away from faith, liberate the oppressed, and transform unjust social, economic, political and other policies and practices.  (Isaiah 61:1-4,8-11Luke 4:16-21)

Know, trust, love and serve each other by participating in our pastoral care, fellowship, service, and small groups.(Philippians 2:1-13;1Pet. 2:9-17).
